Sour Flower - Organic Sour Fruit Gums

Sour Flower is the sour one in the family. Lush flowers and sweet rabbits, dusted with sour sugar crystals, so the sharpness hits first and the fruit follows.

The flavour is built on lemon and cherry with a spiced citrus note, and both citric acid and malic acid contribute to the sharp bite. Caramel syrup rounds it off with a deep, almost toasted sweetness in the background that keeps the sourness from turning harsh.

The texture is firmer than the other two in the range, because these are made with both gelatine and corn starch. That gives more resistance to the bite, and the sugar crystals on the outside crunch lightly before the gum gives way.

As with the rest of the range, the colours come from the ingredients. Elderberry juice gives the deep red, turmeric the yellow, and spirulina algae extract the greens and blues. No artificial colourings, no artificial flavourings, all certified organic.

The brand comes from Danish company Sweet Intentions, who set out to make sweets without the things you normally find in a bag of gummies. Sour Flower is gluten free and lactose free, but contains gelatine and is therefore not vegetarian. If you want the vegan version, choose Love Spring.
