Summer truffle - a delicate classic from the Italian kitchen
The summer truffle is the most widely used truffle in the Italian culinary tradition and is prized for its mild but distinctive flavour. With its black, slightly rough surface - also known as Scorzone - and its bright, nutty aroma, it captures the essence of the sunny season in which it is harvested.
At Tastefulness we recommend enjoying the summer truffle thinly sliced or finely grated over warm dishes, where its fine flavour can unfold. Try it on freshly baked bread with a generous drop of extra virgin olive oil and a touch of sea salt - a simple serving where the truffle takes the lead.
Tartufi Jimmy was founded in 1980 by Giovannino Cecchini, who dreamed of making a living from his great passion for fresh truffles. Today the company is based in the small village of Pietralunga in green Umbria, surrounded by maple and oak trees.
