Two open cubes, built entirely from letters and numbers in bronze. The characters are put together criss-cross, forming the walls of the cube itself, so that the form is held up by the writing alone. The gaps between the characters make the sculpture airy and allow light to pass through it.

The letters originate from old tombstones. Instead of being discarded, they have been given new life in a new work. Characters that once represented names and dates are here detached from their meaning and instead form part of a structure that is supported by what they are made of.

The bronze has developed a greenish-blue patination, which is thickest in the indentations and highlights the edge and form of each individual letter. The patina will slowly continue to develop, making each piece unique.

A sculpture that demands to be seen up close, where the eye keeps discovering new letters. Beautiful on a shelf, desk, or as a standalone detail in a room.

Each piece is unique and will vary in patina, colour play, texture, and surface.
