A crumpled disposable cup, rendered in copper and placed on a brick. The cup lies overturned on its side, just as it would have lain on the pavement, and lifted onto the brick it becomes a found object, something to be observed instead of stepped around.

The copper has developed a deep green patina, which collects at the bottom of the cup and along the pressed folds, highlighting every dent in the original plastic form. Against the brick's warm reddish-brown color and rough surface, a contrast arises between two materials, both with a history behind them.

Trash Art is a series by Anonymous Artist, where disposable packaging is given a permanent form. The work raises a question about what we discard and what we preserve, without wagging a finger.

Each work is unique and will vary in patina, color play, structure, and surface. The brick is part of the artwork, and as the bricks are different, the dimensions will vary from piece to piece.
